Education and Training: Reported on Free Family Movie Day- January 29th, 2012 at 2:00 pm.- Empire Theatre- Popcorn and Drink Included- Everyone Welcome!

Membership Committee- Kim Howard designed a SAVE THE DATE Notice for the May 9th AGM and Event.

Discussed AGM and the Event following, "Understanding and Responding to Male Sexual Victimization. It was suggested that the times be placed on the notice so people could start planning for the early start.

Time Line- 8:00-9:00 am- AGM Meeting

9:00-9:30 am- Registration

9:30-4:30 pm- Event

Protocol: Central & South Hastings – Reported on the Virtual Hub Demonstration on November 23rd, 2011. 7 individuals participated from their own desks.

North Hastings Protocol/Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee will be meeting on January 16th, 2012.

Social Action Committee- Is meeting on Feb. 1st at 12:00 – Tomasso's in Trenton.

Treasurer's Report- Reviewed by members. Pam Havery questioned if having a monthly statement from the Treasurer was necessary and why a different format was being used other than that provided to the committee from Three Oaks. Cheryl Clarke clarified that previously the Committee Members found having the monthly statement prepared by Teresa was easier to understand and see how much monies were left to spend.

World Conference for Shelters was discussed. Still waiting to hear if there will be approval from the Ministry for attendance at the Conference and our alternative funding options available to us. Sandie Sidsworth once again offered to help pay for some of the gas needed to travel to Washington for the Conference.

The Executive Committee will contact Sarah Phoenix when she returns from holidays to inquire who would be attending the World Conference.

Motion- The Executive was authorized to make a contribution to the Conference in Washington.

Receipts under $1000.00 does not need the whole Committee approval

Over $1000.00 needs whole Committee approval

Steven Starbuck will contact Sarah Phoenix to make sure no Committee Members have to pay out of pocket for the World Conference.

Process of Drafting The Budget for April 1st will be set at the June meeting.

When is the time to discuss what the Committee wants to accomplish for the year?

Is the Committee's time together being utilized effectively?

After some discussion took place from Pam Havery in regards to social action Kris Patterson discussed the Police Service Act and the boundaries of not being able to be involved in Social Activities. After some discussion from the Committee it was decided that we should revisit this discussion in regards to - Limit on personal and professional boundaries.

Community Wagon- Social Action- Raising awareness of women engaged in the sex trade. Carla Vandervoort discussed the need for services for these women.

New Business

Steven Starbuck received a call from Brian Urch who is the brother of Tracy and Hannah Whitney who were killed in 2010. Brian wants to hold a dance in memory of his relatives and profit from the dance to go to QCCAV. The dance will be held March 17th 2012. Brian is requesting that the tickets advertise that profits will be given to QCCAV. After further discussion it was decided that Steven will contact Brian and let him know that QCCAV cannot be printed on the tickets due to liability to our Committee.

Kris Patterson advised the Committee that there would be a live demonstration on Panic Buttons at the Central/South Protocol meeting on January 12th, 2012.

Kim Charlebois and Teresa Gauthier have designed a form where a person can file a complaint against someone anonymously. This form should be ready in the Spring.

Sandie Sidsworth announced receiving an outstanding grant to help Youth who have mental health issues to receive First Aid training free of charge.

A Hoarding Program has been developed to help individuals in two counties.

Ashlee Allen discussed two programs. 1) Women Empowerment-10 week program which starts January 26th- Communication Skills and Building Self-Confidence

2) Healthy Relationships for Youth-12 to 14 yrs. - January 31st and Feb. 4th-6th

Pam Havery is working with VAW, Maggies and the Military Base to improve French language services. A new brochure will be in French for victims of Domestic Violence.

On December 6th the OAITH Social Action Committee went to Queens Park to speak with Politicians regarding Shelters.

Julia Gosson has been hired by Three Oaks as a Fund Developer to run a Capital Campaign for 2nd Stage Housing.
